Suzy Lane has lost none of the dynamic voice and energy that has taken her from singing as a child in Sunday School and later “The Gene Caroll Show,” in the early 60’s on Cleveland television.

You may have heard her as the lead singer in many north-east Ohio bands or her own band “Today’s Country” Suzy has opened for many big name performers at the old Ponderosa Park outside of Salem.

The time devoted to raising a family and the joys of a grandchild may have taken her out of the spotlight but not the joy of singing and entertaining.

Suzy met Jeanie Mackie where they work as waitresses at the Travel Centers of America Truck Stop in Austintown. A friendship developed and as Suzy was singing at a cook-out at her home, Jeanie joined in with a clear pure harmony.

Jeanie had sang in the Church Choir but being mother to six boys did not leave much spare time to sing.

Jeanie had piano lessons as a child so a keyboard was soon added.

The get-togethers resulted in playing with other bands at north-east Ohio and western Pennsylvania clubs and functions.

The decision was made to form “Classic Country” as a way to showcase their personal style and talents as entertainers and songwriters. You will enjoy listening but to find true entertainment enjoyment attending a live show will create a flood of fond memories.
